The KAEMaRT - Knowledge Aided Engineering Manufacturing and Related Technologies

The group members have interdisciplinary backgrounds, including Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Design and Cognitive psychology. The mission of the group has always been to investigate new solutions for industrial applications and to develop innovative methods, tools and prototypes in collaboration with industrial partners, mainly in the framework of national and European programmes, and direct research contracts from companies. 

Marina Carulli, product designer, Ph.D. in Virtual Prototypes and Real Products and post-Doc fellow at the KAEMaRT group since 2008, will explain the role of digital representation and topological optimisation in improving the designers’ activites, and in which way those tools are used by students for expressing their creativity.
