Computational Methodologies for Thermo-Fluid Dynamics Problems in Electronics

In this presentation we will talk about a DOE project in which the temperature of a server room was evaluated and optimized. The ideal room temperature was set to 14-16 degrees Celsius, to guarantee an optimal server operation. In this project we coupled Software Cradle’s STREAM, a thermofluid analysis software with structured mesh, available via Altair’s Partner Alliance with HyperStudy to perform the parametric study. Several measurement points were used to control the room temperature. The parametric DOE study with HyperStudy enabled the determination of the required means to meet the project objectives.
