Simulation of Plastic Parts Considering Material and Production Specific Boundary Condition

Shape distortion of injection moulded parts during demoulding as well as in change or temperature is addicted to the structure of the part, the material, the mould and the injection moulding process. When simulating the deformation due to thermal load it is necessary to consider the anisotropic mechanical behaviour of injection moulded short-fiber-reinforced plastics part. By interlinking the results of the injection moulding simulation and the structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) this requirements are taken into account.

On a concrete example the impact of the gating position on the shape distortion due to thermal load is shown in this paper.
